Video security surveillance app maker, SKJM, has updated its iCam app to version 2.2 and added some useful features. iCam now supports 256-Bit AES encryption, motion event image thumbnail gallery style, and supports the iPhone 5 4-inch display size. The update also includes various bug fixes and optimizations. I highly recommend this invaluable app. iCam has motion detection functionality sent via push notifiation alert with support for a bevy of third-party of security surveillance cameras. iCam is universal binary iOS app. Most notable feature: iCam for iPhone can support up to 12 simultaneous live video streams and the iPad up to 16. Alarm.com has released a free app for iPhone for those who already have one of their systems. You still have full control over your system from anywhere you are and can arm/disarm if necessary. With included tools, receive real time updates on your home, watch live and recorded feeds and check event histories of past occurrences. Kudos to Alarm.com for coming up with a clever way to possibly drum up some new business.

Smart Surfing uses advanced “in the cloud” Web Reputation technology to block access of viruses, worms and other malware. When you use the application and come across an unfavorable URL, Smart Surfing will notify you visually. The application is free and available at the iTunes App Store.
