Spider The Secret of Bryce Manor Review

I’d say finding a great game on the App Store can be like finding a needle in a haystack. Well, I’ve got your needle right here - in one of the best games yet available for the and . Spider: The Secret of Brice Manor.

This came comes highly, highly recommended. Please, go buy it now. It’ll be the best $2.99 you’ve spent in some time.
...
Okay. Now that you’ve got that taken care of, you probably noticed that the game is over 50 MB, which is larger than average for an iPhone game - I’ll tell you more. And hey, if you haven’t clicked the BUY APP button yet, I’ll still tell you about it.

Spider: The Secret of Brice Manor has to be one of the most innovative games on the platform - if not the most original available now.

Yes, Rolando 1 and 2 are great but at the root of it, they’re not the entirely original. Remember Loco Roco? There are other contenders but there’s no need to dive into that discussion now.

In Tiger Style‘s very first iPhone title, you play as a Spider. A Spider that wanders from room to room in Bryce Manor. The house appears to be deserted and you - the player - learn more about the former inhabitants as you progress.

You move from room to room by collecting insects. To do so, you jump around rooms and form lines of silk. Multiple overlapping lines of silk automatically create a web - which catches insects. You then munch up what’s left behind on webs you’ve created and soon enough you’re on to the next room!

The controls work really well, the graphics are incredibly sharp, and the gameplay is completely refreshing. The game also boasts great music and absolutely deserves to be played while wearing headphones. Spider also has leader-boards and support for Facebook Connect - both of which are great inclusions.

As you play, you’ll find yourself getting pulled in and wanting to finish the stage you’re on and see what room will come next. And sure enough, you’ll learn exactly what the secret of Bryce Manor is as you progress.

For anyone who doubts the power of the iPhone and iPod touch as a gaming platform, Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor will dispel any possible doubts. Period.
